Alumni volunteerism separates a great University from one that is simply good. You can participate in a wide range of volunteer opportunities across the University; in fact, you may find more than one that interests you and matches your talents. This page describes the many opportunities available.

Alumni Association Board Member
Serve in a leadership capacity with the Alumni Association Board of Directors. Alumni Global Day Of Service Site Leader
Lead alumni in service in your community! The 2016 Binghamton University Alumni Global Day of Service will be held the weekend of Friday-Sunday, April 15, 16 and 17. Alumni Golf Classic Planning Committee Volunteer
Assist with the annual Alumni Golf Classic tournament in the Binghamton area as a member of the planning committee. Participation in this volunteer opportunity includes attending 3-5 committee meetings leading up to the tournament, soliciting local businesses for raffle items and sponsorships and participating in the tournament as a player or volunteer.  Proceeds from the tournament support the Alumni Association’s Legacy Scholarship.
Alumni Recruitment Event Liasion (GSOE)
Promote the Graduate School of Education via organized college recruitment events or smaller information sessions at a college or high school in your local area. The Graduate School of Education will supply marketing materials for these events.
Athletics Alumni Guest Speaker/Career Network Volunteer
Alumni Athletes are invited back during Homecoming to share their career stories and advice with current Junior and Senior Student-Athletes. This program provides Binghamton University Athletes with an opportunity to hear a wide-range of career options and insights based on personal and professional experiences of Athletics Alumni.
CCPA Career Exploration Week Volunteer
Opportunity for alumni to serve on panels, give presentations and form relationships with CCPA students. This opportunity is offered two times a year, during the week of the Fall or Spring Job & Internship Fair.
CCPA Community Connections Volunteer
Tabling event for professionals who would like to meet with and extend opportunities to CCPA students. The program occurs once a month, on Tuesday, and can be scheduled between 11 a.m.   more...

Commencement: Disability Services
In this position you will assist families in need of special assistance, including but not limited to: taking information from guests who need wheelchairs, escorting guests in wheelchairs to handicapped accessible seating, and assisting in handicapped parking drop-off.
Commencement: Faculty Services
As a faculty services volunteer, you will be assisting our faculty check-in before the ceremony, dress in their regalia, and return regalia at the completion of the ceremony.
Commencement: Greeter
As a greeter, you will be the first Binghamton University representative our guests see! Make sure to keep a smile, welcome and congratulate our guests, and be on your toes for any questions they may have.
Commencement: Guest Usher
This position will require you to assist our guests in locating seats, escorting VIP guests to their seats/suites, and managing the crowd once the ceremony begins.
Commencement: Program Distribution
You will be stationed at the front of the Events Center. Hand out programs to the guests, answer any questions they may have, and assist as needed. Once the ceremony begins, you will be moved to another location to assist with guest services.

This position requires you to have a strong voice! As a student services volunteer, you will be assisting our graduates line up and process into the event floor.
